PROPHONICS COURSE 2: SOUNDING IT OUT!

Course Description: 

The Sounding it Out! book is the second book in the ProPhonics series. This book takes the student to the next, exciting stage of reading–decoding words by ‘sounding them out’ or blending sounds together. The ability to hear that various phonetic sounds can be merged to produce a word-sound increases with language and brain development and usually becomes consolidated around the age of six years. However, it has been found that regular auditory blending practice (in children with adequate development) can contribute significantly to the learning of this skill. Therefore, many children younger than six have learned this skill and have become proficient at reading. The Pro Phonics Sounding it Out! book teaches the student how to use letter sounds to read two-, three-, four-letter and sight words with ease, taking him/her to the pre-primer, primer, grade one and grade 2 reading levels.
